God is able to make every grace abundant for you… 2 Cor 9:8
“And your Father who sees in secret will repay you.” Mt. 6:4
Lord, so often I seem to draw a line between what I want to hang on to and what I’m willing to give up. Your word today offers us a better outlook, a more eternal perspective, on generosity. You propose I look at my time, money, possessions, talents, and energy as free gifts from you who will not be outdone in generosity. You also assure me that our Father, who can look into the depths of my heart, knows perfectly all there is to know about me and is anxious and ready to shower me with even more of his goodness. A goodness that comes from his infinite love for me but with the expectation I don’t keep all of it for myself. Lord, continue to bless me and my family with all we need for our salvation. Also, help me to get over the tendency to divide what I have into “yours, mine and ours” piles. It’s all yours. Thank you for entrusting me with your gifts so I can be a channel of your love to those around me. St. Aloysius pray for us. Amen
