Galatians 5:1-6

Psalm 119

Luke 11:37-41

For freedom Christ set us free; Gal. 5:1

“You fools!  Did not the maker of the outside also make the inside?”  Luke 11:40

Lord, you give us tough words today. What would you say to me if I invited you over for dinner? What would you see in my heart? You saw some darkness in the heart of the Pharisee, and you call him out on it. You exposed a hypocrisy that was hidden inside. Then you urged him to become clean by acts of charity. What am I hiding within? I would be truly embarrassed if my innermost thoughts and feelings were exposed like his were. I can see that true freedom comes from repenting of the darkness that lies within me. True happiness is letting your healing grace cleanse me of any evil passions that may be hidden within. We all cherish freedom in our personal decisions. Help me to cherish the freedom from death and sin you won for me. Lord, you know me perfectly, inside and out. Nothing can be concealed from you. I surrender to your grace and invite your light to shine in my darkness. Show me today how I can leave behind one obstacle to living the abundant, joy-filled life you came to give me.  Amen.
