Psalm Jeremiah 31:10-13
John 11:45-56
My dwelling shall be with them; I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Ez. 37:27
“…it is better for you that one man should die instead of the people.” John 11:50
Lord, Caiaphas got it right although he didn’t know it. He proposed it was better for you to die than the people who followed and believed in you. That’s exactly what you did. You gave yourself on the cross so that all mankind can be brought back to the Father, even Caiaphas. Tomorrow we begin Holy Week and the final walk to the cross and Easter Sunday. Lord, this is a good time for me to remember how faithful you are to me. You have chosen to dwell with me and to be my God if I will be your disciple. I believe you will never abandon me even when I turn away from you the source of all unity and goodness. You came to make me holy so I will offer myself to you now and this coming week so I can share in that holiness. Only in you can I find lasting happiness and true fulfillment. I reject placing anything or anyone before you, my God. You are the only one who can save me. Lord, take up your dwelling in my heart, cast out any idols you find there and bring me close to you. Amen.
