April 24, 2020 Friday of the 2nd Week of Easter –A ST. FIDELIS OF SIGMARINGEN, MARTYR

Acts of the Apostles 5: 34-42

Psalm 27

John 6:1-15

They collected them and filled twelve wicker baskets with fragments …that had been more than they could eat. John 6:13

Lord, you fed thousands of people with five loaves and two fish that had been brought to you by a young boy. What an amazing miracle. This miracle foreshadowed the miracle of the Eucharist which you would offer later at the Last Supper with your disciples. It also shows us that the small gifts we have when offered to you they are multiplied and serve many more than we envision. Many of us think we don’t have much to offer your church. No problem. Lord I want to give you what I have and leave the multiplication of them up to you. There were twelve baskets of leftovers. This shows me the abundance of your gifts to me. They are more than I can know. I truly believe you send my way so much more than I see. I miss most of the blessings and gifts that you provide for me every day. Jesus, take what I have and make it holy and effective in my family and community. I offer my prayer to you today, knowing you will hear it and will answer it in some way in abundance. Open my eyes, Lord, and show me the leftovers you provide. St. Fidelis pray for us. Amen Alleluia
