Zechariah 8:20-23

Psalm 87

Luke 9:51-56

Let us go with you, for we have heard that that God is with you.” Zech 8:23

Lord, people will sometimes see what others have and be a bit envious of them.  Someone may have a beautiful home, new car, exciting job or fine clothing.  Others may have gifts and talents that are attractive to us.  We can want that some can travel the world.  Envy of the material or personal attributes of others is probably not a good thing in your eyes.  But spiritual envy of their faith is something else.  I see people that are authentically humble, gentle and totally trusting in you.  I also notice how some can endure suffering with grace and bring peace to those in crisis.  Lord, I too want to live with the confidence that you are with me.  I want my faith to guide my decisions, strengthen me when I am weak, and be a sign of your love in my family and my world.  Lord, I trust you are working in me every hour of every day.  You are forming me like a potter forms the clay on the spindle.  Let you light shine in me today and increase the awareness of all that you are with us always.  Amen
