Romans 4:1-8
Psalm 32
Luke 12:1-7
Blessed is he whose fault is taken away, whose sin is covered. Psalm 32:1
“Beware of the leaven—that is, the hypocrisy—of the Pharisees.” Lk 12-1
Lord, you exposed the danger of the hypocrisy of the religious leaders of your time. They lived dual lives. On the outside they appeared to honor God by their works but on the inside they hid a corruption and deceit known only to you. You told your followers that everything hidden will one day be exposed. Lord, there are sins of my past I do not wish exposed. There are attitudes and thoughts today that I hold in secret. While I can conceal this darkness from people nothing can be hidden from you. Lord, heal any hypocrisy you find in me. Help me to be open and trusting in your mercy and forgiveness. You hold me in such value that you died for me. I lay all my faults and failings at the foot of your cross. Remember not what I have done in secret. Dear Jesus, I open my heart to your healing love and am encouraged that you hold me in such esteem that you give yourself to me at each Mass in the Eucharist. May I walk today, not in fear, but in your love. Amen.
