Revelation 3:1-6, 14-22

Psalm 15

Luke 19:1-10

“If anyone hears my voice and opens the door I will enter his house and dine with him and he with me.  Rev 3:20

“Zachaeus…today I must stay at your house.”  Lk. 19:5

Lord, what did you see in this little man in the tree that got your attention?  Of all the people who were greeting you, why did you ask to come to his house?   You saw someone who wanted to see you.  You saw a sinner who was in need of forgiveness.  You saw a man who upon repenting of his sin could make a huge difference in the people of his town.  You lit a fire in the heart of Zachaeus that day.  The tax collector had done nothing to earn your attention and favor except to be in great need of mercy.  Lord, I too can’t earn your love but I am so grateful you see the need in me.  Today, I open the door of my heart and welcome you to enter and stay with me.   You don’t give up on anyone who seeks you no matter how great their sins.  May I not condemn anyone either who may appear to be far from you.  You have a way of changing hearts and turning lives around.  Thank you, dear Lord, for coming to seek and to save those of us who were lost.  Amen.
