For I handed on to you as of first importance what I also received… 1 Cor. 15:3
Lord, we organize our days and even our lives around our priorities. The values we choose as most important to us form us in so many ways. We maintain our health by eating and drinking moderately, our finances by working and saving, our relationships by caring for others. Our priorities evolve as we age and our life circumstances change. Throughout all these activities our faith and our relationship with you must be maintained as well. We cannot stay proficient in our work without growth and practice. Nor can we stay sharp in our faith without seeking your word and your sacraments. Lord, I don’t have to go it alone as my faith matures and grows. I need your grace and your guidance to fully embrace the calling you have placed within me. Help me to be faithful, everyday, to prayer and reading you holy word. Make receiving you in the Eucharist a regular source of spiritual nourishment for me. Show me, dear Jesus, how I can stack my priorities so that following you and doing your will is first and foremost. Amen
