Acts of the Apostles 18:23-28

Psalm 47

John 16:23-28

“…whatever you ask the Father in my name he will give you.” John 16:23

Lord, you encourage your followers to ask our Father for anything.  We are to pray in your name for our needs.  As parents love their children and desire to give them all that is good for them our dear Father holds back nothing from his children.  We can be confident that all that is required for our spiritual journey to heaven is ours for the asking.  Lord, I can at times become a little confused about my real needs and ask for what’s not the best for me.  I thank God I don’t get everything I think I want.  I also thank you for your intercession on my behalf with our Father.  Dear Jesus, I trust that you see my needs clearly and perfectly.  You know without a doubt what graces and blessings will make my joy complete.  Make my prayers in line with your vision for my real joy.  Help me to seek only what brings me closer to you and what I can share with others.  In your name, dear Jesus, I lift up my soul.  Amen.
