…concluding that God had called us to proclaim the good news… Acts 16:10
Lord, every day we make plans and choose how best to carry them out. Paul had a plan to preach the good news in certain places and certain times. You intervened and he changed the plan he had made in favor of yours. Paul realized his way was not always best but your way is always perfect. He also realized how you see the big picture and know perfectly what is best for us and our purpose in following you. Lord, Paul was open to your guidance and direction. Sometimes I am so in love with my plans I am not open to yours. You know me and you‘ve blessed me with certain gifts and talents. You know how I can best serve you today. Is there a better way for me to parent my child, support and love my spouse? Is a change of job or place to live in the best interest of my faith and mission? Lord, grant me the openness and sensitivity to your plan for me. In my prayer time may I hear your voice moving me to bear the fruit of your kingdom. Amen.
