Acts 13:26-33
Psalm 2
John 14:1-6
“Do not let your hearts be troubled.” John 14:1
Lord, it seems not a day goes by that some degree of trouble doesn’t enter our lives. Major or minor trouble seems to creep on a regular basis. Fear or worry can become obstacles to the peace you came to give us. Tragedy in the news or our personal lives can bring us to a standstill. Lord, this is not how you want us to live. Your words to your troubled disciples were assurance that you have everything under control. Your final desire for them and for me is to have faith in you as “the way, the truth and the life.” You almost beg me to trust in you, follow you and look for your return. You are at this moment building a mansion in your heavenly kingdom for me. Lord, help me to let go of my fears and worries, large and small. I place myself in your loving and powerful hands. I can find shelter from the storms of life in you, dear Jesus. May your Spirit open my heart to your grace and peace. There will then be no room for trouble. Amen.
