“Some seed fell on rich soil, and produced fruit…” Matthew 13:8
Lord, I thank you for sowing the seed of your word in my heart. I am also grateful for the rain of your grace which waters the soil of my life. For your word to produce the fruit, for which it is given, I must be receptive and open to its richness and power. Sometimes my pride can prevent your teaching from taking root. Sometimes my busyness keeps me from giving my full attention to you. Your message can challenge me to change or to move out of my comfort zone. To be honest, I often don’t want to do that. Lord, you know I truly am not perfect. I am a work in progress. Enrich the soil of my heart with a humble and open sensitivity to your whispers. Make me hungry for whatever you wish to reveal to me today. Please don’t let me miss any of the good news which the Spirit wants to plant within me. I am overjoyed to be able to produce fruit in your garden. Amen.
