2 Samuel 6:12-15, 17-19

Psalm 24

Mark 3:31-35

…he blessed the people in the name of the Lord of hosts.  2 Sam 6:19

“For whoever does the will of God is my brother and sister and mother.”  Mk 3:35

Lord, family can be defined in many ways.  We can think of our circle of friends, those we work with, neighbors, or members of a social club as family.  Of course, our biological family comes to mind.  In your day, family was everything.  You blessed those who were seeking the abundant life you came to offer as family.  You defined family as all who desired to follow you in obedience to the Father’s will.  Lord, David and the people joyfully celebrated your presence among them.  They must have had a sense of being in God’s family too.  I can’t describe the joy and peace I have at being included in the circle of your family.  Along with other members of your family, I pray for the grace and the will today to build up your kingdom.  I pray that we may work together to bear fruit for you.  May our hearts be open to dancing before you with abandon.  Thank you for inviting me into your family, Lord.  Amen.
