1 John 2:22-28

Psalm 98

John 1:19-28

If what you heard from the beginning remains in you, then you will remain in the Son and in the Father.  1 John 2:24

Lord, I really want to remain in you and our Father.  But the world has such a strong pull on me to rely on it.  The message of the world is to rely on myself, or on the government or on science or other institutions.  But none of these promise eternal life like you do.  And that is the best, good news I can receive today.  You are reliable, constant and forever present throughout my life.  You have rescued me from harm so many times I can’t count them.  You have led me through the darkness by your light and have guided me to safe harbors.  When challenged I can trust you will be close by to provide all the strength I will ever need.  You provide opportunities for growth and even in failure you teach me how to persevere.  You have my total gratitude for all you have done for me.  It’s hard to believe that your love for me never wavers even when I turn away from you.  Please help me to be faithful and loyal to you all the days of my life.  Amen
