Hebrews 7:25-8:6
Psalm 40
Mark 3:7-12
Hearing what he was dong, a large number of people came to him. Mark 3:8
Lord, you were a “rock star” in your time. The crowds of people followed you to the sea and nearly overwhelmed you with their frantic pleas for healing. They hung on your every word. They yearned for your touch. If you came among us in the flesh today it would be no different. I can imagine the traffic jams, the news helicopters overhead, the satellite TV trucks and the clamor of the media for interviews and talk show appearances. You, however, would be limited to being in one place at a time. So few lucky people would be able to get your undivided attention. But now you are available to everyone who seeks you-24/7. You hear every prayer whispered in the dark of night. You see into every one’s heart that is open to you. You speak to each of us through your spirit. Your word is a close to us as the nearest bible. Lord, thank you, for being so close and giving me your undivided attention. Thank you for healing and forgiving me. Thank you for being closer to me than my own skin. Amen.
