 “…he is destined for the fall and for the rise of many…” Lk. 2:34

Lord, at your presentation in the temple, the holy man Simeon told your mother Mary that people will rise and fall by their choice to believe in or to reject you.  He clearly saw you as the long-awaited Messiah of Israel and the redeemer of the Gentiles.  Being in complete harmony with the Holy Spirit he saw what others did not.  He, along with the shepherds, your parents and Anna believed in you and your destiny.  One day you would return to this temple, fulfill your destiny and give your life for all people.   My Lord and my God, bring me into harmony with your Spirit so that I too may believe in all you have revealed to mankind.  Open my heart to be touched by your words and help me to choose to carry my cross today.  Anna and Simeon, as your first disciples and evangelists, completely gave their lives to you.   I am open to however you want to present yourself to me.  Bless me and my family today with your presence, your grace and your peace.  Amen.
