See, I am coming to dwell among you says the Lord. Zech 2:14
“Hail, full of grace! The Lord is with you.” Lk. 1:28
Lord, thus begins maybe the most important dialog in the history of mankind. As your angel and Mary talked the entire cosmos waited with anticipation and excitement. Would she say “Yes”? Would this young girl accept the calling to be your mother? Would she give herself to people of every nation as their mother too? That day so long ago hope returned to our world. When Mary appeared to Juan Diego hope was brought to a pagan land. Lord, today I rejoice in faith that you came among us and have given us so wonderful a mother. May I have the courage and trust of Mary to say yes to you especially when I can’t see clearly all that yes will mean for me. Lord, help me to live a life of openness and obedience to God’s will as Mary did. When I am afraid or uncertain may I turn to her in prayer for steadiness and faithfulness. Give me the courage to say “I am your servant, O Lord, may it be done to me according to your word.” Amen.
