The people complained against God and Moses… Numbers 21:5
Lord, the Israelites had many difficulties and trials on their journey to the Promised Land. Today we hear their patience had worn thin and in their frustration they complained against you and Moses. As we make our Lenten journey to the Promised Land of Easter we, of course, must endure the cross. The many challenges and struggles of life can try our patience and just flat wear us out. It’s so easy to become discouraged and allow doubt to attack our faith. We want to be Easter people but would prefer to skip the cross. Lord, I admit I can’t walk this road without you. As you freed the Israelites from slavery forgive my sins which hold me in bondage. As you saved them from Pharaoh protect me and my family from the evil one. As you fed them manna in the desert feed me with your body and blood to strengthen me for the journey. Jesus, I believe in the victory you won for me on the cross. Help me to keep my eyes focused on your always. Amen.
