2 Timothy 4:10-17

Psalm 145

Luke 10:1-9

The Lord is near to all who call upon him… Ps. 145:18

The Lord Jesus appointed seventy-two disciples… Lk. 10:9

Lord, you sent these disciples ahead to the places you intended to visit. Curiously, you were very specific about how they were to act but you didn’t go into detail on the message except to proclaim that your Kingdom was coming. They were representing you to people who did not know you. How they acted during these visits reflected on you and maybe was critical to the people being prepared for your coming. Lord, being a Christian is not something that is restricted to great preaching or even to words. It is how I live my life. If I was unable to speak I could still be a powerful “preacher” of your gospel by my actions. Lord, you have planted me in this place, in this time and given me unique opportunities to witness to you.  You have also blessed me with your presence in the Holy Spirit. You are near when I pray, work, play and rest. Give me the grace to be a good representative of yours to whomever you place in my path today. Help me to be faithful to my commission, persevere in your truth and reflect you to the world.  Amen.
