Psalm 113
Luke 6:43-49
To the king of ages, incorruptible, invisible, the only God, honor and glory forever and ever. 1 Tim. 15:17
“That one is like a person building a house, who dug deeply and laid the foundation on rock.” Luke 6:48
Lord, this is hurricane season in Florida. We are familiar with the building codes whose purpose is to help keep our homes intact when storms strike. Your words are the building codes for our lives. They keep us strong and secure when the storms of temptation or trouble come. Like being prepared for a hurricane we must prepare before the storms come. It’s too late to try to buy fuel or batteries when the winds or floods hit us. Lord, my best preparation is faith in you. My best building code is your word. Each and every day I desire to build up the store of goodness in my heart to be able to produce good fruit during the storms of life. Lord, may I today listen carefully to your words and be guided by them. May I rely on the foundation of faith you’ve blessed me with and have nurtured within me. Be my foundation and my rock, dear Jesus. Thank you, Lord, for the confidence that my house can withstand anything that comes against it. Amen.
