“Come to me, all who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Mt. 11:28
Lord, if someone who does not know you asks me who you are how shall I describe you? What shall I say about you that would tell them what you are like? I could tell them stories from scripture that show your might and power. I could share with them your wisdom and teachings. Your miracles would let them know of your mighty deeds. They could look at nature and the universe to see your creation. But most of all you are love. Today you invite us to let go of all that burdens us and to lay those burdens on your shoulders like the cross you carried to Calvary. You are the one who I can be yoked with when the going gets tough and I need help to move forward. You are the one who looks after me and provides all the grace, strength and faith I need to achieve my salvation. You are the one who gave every drop of your blood on the cross so I might live forever. You are love, mercy and forgiveness. You are all I need every moment of every day. St. Bonaventure pray for us. Amen.
