The Lord took me from following the flock… Amos 7:15
Jesus summoned the twelve and began to send them out… and gave them authority over unclean spirits. Mk. 6:7
Lord, Moses, Amos, Peter, and Paul had radical lifestyle changes when you called them. Many other prophets, apostles and saints gave up their former ways of living and accepted the call to your side in service of God’s will. I can look back and see how you have led me, directed me and called me to grow into new roles in your kingdom. Sometimes I hesitate, Lord, because I feel unqualified to do what you ask. I imagine the Apostles may have felt the same way when you told them to cast out demons and heal the sick. I just have to trust that you have placed me in this time and this place with my personal gifts and talents for your grand purposes. I believe you know best and will never worry like I do about failure. You told your Apostles to not let rejection get the best of them. You urge us to keep moving forward one step at a time and to not be discouraged by lack of results. Amos, Paul and the Apostles didn’t walk alone in their work for you and neither do I. Amen
