Acts of the Apostles: 15:7-21

Psalm 96

John 15:9-11

…we believe that we are saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, in the same way as they.”  Acts. 15:11

Tell his glory among the nations; among all peoples, his wondrous deeds.  Ps. 96:3

Lord, you know how divided and polarized our world and our country have become. In the early church there was much division also. Your Holy Spirit moved among the disciples and eventually they took the risk of proclaiming your good news to the Gentiles. It wasn’t easy and was considered a controversial decision at the time. It was not popular with many people. But St. Peter and the others that knew you weren’t concerned with popularity. They knew there were no boundaries to your love.  Isn’t it strange that when we learn to love those who are different than we are that our hearts are broken open and we can then experience the joy that you promised. Lord, help me to look on those on who are different than I am the way you do. May I be less focused on who is “right” or “wrong” and accept everyone who you have created.  They are your children and you desperately want them to hear the Gospel and come to know you as their Savior. Thank you, Jesus, for showing me the way to love as your Father loves.  Amen Alleluia
