Matthew 22:1-14
“…invite to the feast whomever you find.” Matthew 22:9
Lord, I can’t wait to come to the grand party which you’ve prepared for us. Who could ever describe such a grand affair? During our time here we can get a taste of the banquet which lies ahead. Your kingdom is here and now. You offer yourself in word and sacrament to nourish and strengthen us for our journey to you. Your grace forms and transforms us to wear the wedding garment you offer to us. Thank you for including me in your guest list. I open my heart and mind to your abundant mercy and love. Lord, in whatever way you think is best, change me each day, one step at a time, to be a worthy guest at your feast. May I seek first your kingdom and not worry about all the rest. I accept your gracious invitation for I am ready to party! I look forward to whatever you’ve prepared. St. Bernard, pray for us. Amen.
