June 30, 2026, Tuesday of the 13th week in Ordinary Time-A
Amos 3:1-8; 4:11-12
Psalm 5
Matthew 8:23-27
“Lord, save us! We are perishing.” Matthew 8:25
Lord, it must have been quite a storm. The waves and wind were too much even for experienced and wily fishermen. I can imagine the fear and panic you saw in their eyes when you awoke. Before you commanded the storm to calm you asked them what had happened to their faith. Faith is always your priority. Lord, it seems the troubles in the world can be overwhelming just like the waves that day. They can seem like the world is falling apart, evil is so common, fear is everywhere. It can appear too much for even you. Only faith in your power, compassion and love can calm the storms of life. Lord, I believe you are greater than any storm that will come into my life today. I turn to you to calm the waves and wind. Thank you Lord, for being in the boat with me. Amen.
