May 26, 2026, Tuesday of the Eighth Week in Ordinary Time ST PHILIP NERI, PRIEST
Sirach 35:1-12
Psalm 50
Mark 10:28-31
“Many who are first will be last and the last will be first”. Mk 10:31
Lord, you know the expression, “it’s all about me”. When I put myself first at the expense of others, I am not following you. You never put yourself first. Lord, you call us to always look to you for security and blessings. The goods and comforts of this world count as nothing in the next. Looking for security in anything other than you is useless although we do it all the time. Lord, you are pleased with us when even in small ways we look to surrender to you and to the needs of our brothers and sisters. Lord, today may I accept the opportunities you place before me to choose the good and ways of your kingdom. May I not hesitate to work and live for the good of others and reject the idea that it’s all about me. Whether first or last in your kingdom, may I rest with you in eternity. St. Philip pray for us. Amen
