May 11, 2026, MONDAY OF THE SIXTH WEEK OF EASTER-A
Acts 16:11-15
Psalm 149
John 15:26-16:4a
We sat and talked with the women who had gathered there. Acts 16:13
Lord, your church in places like Phillipi started small-a few women along a riverbank. It also encountered immediate obstacles as your servant Paul was soon arrested and thrown into prison. Did it cross Paul’s mind that this is what he gets for listening to the Spirit? Probably not. To be honest, sometimes when big things have small starts or when obstacles block my path, I have doubts that I’m doing the right thing, going the correct way. I’ve learned that obstacles are sometimes a part of your plans. They test my commitment; they build my endurance and train me in patience. Lord, you always know what’s best for me. Give me confidence in your grace to see through the difficulties that will come my way today. After all you met many obstacles in your life on earth. I can prevail when times get tough because you are with me and are much bigger than any problems I’ll ever have. Amen
