Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice and proclaimed…  Acts 2:14

“Do not be afraid.  Go…” Matthew 28:10

Lord, who are these guys?  Are these the same ones who could not be found when you were nailed to the cross?  Is this the same guy who swore he didn’t even know you?  Where have they been hiding since you rose from the tomb?  You made good on your promise to send them an Advocate.  What a huge difference the Spirit made in their lives of faith.  Their fear was replaced with courage, discouragement by hope and darkness by light.  After all this time with you they finally got it!  Lord, thank you for sending your Holy Spirit upon me.  The gifts of the Spirit are the same now as they were in Peter’s day.  May the Spirit lead me to proclaim with word and deed that you are risen and am still with us.  Show me the plan you have for my life.  Teach me to rely on the gift of grace to sustain me each and every day.  I too am a new creation ready to live like I’ve been saved.  Amen.
