Romans 6:3-11
Psalm 118
Luke 24:1-12
If then we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him. Romans 6:8
Lord today is a day of silence, a day of waiting. Your followers saw you die and be buried. Your last words were “it is finished”. Did they think that you had failed? Like so many other “messiahs” you were not who you said you were? Waiting can create doubt along with fear. Where they next on the cross? Tomorrow you will show the world that a new era is upon us. Mankind has been redeemed. The price was paid, death no longer rules. Lord, my Lent is complete for this year. I have died to the old and look forward to the new. Death is behind me and life is before. I lift up my heart, mind and spirit to you. Like Moses and the people passed safely through the Red Sea, a new life awaits. Like your disciples who passed this day of darkness and waiting a new day dawned. Lord, what miracles and blessings and experiences await me? The old is gone, new life in God awaits. Amen.
