Philippians 3:3-8

Psalm 105

Luke 15:1-10

“What man among you…would not leave the ninety-nine in the desert and go after the lost one until he finds it…”  Lk. 15:4

Lord, sometimes your stories go against common sense.  It seems crazy to expose 99 sheep to danger to find a single lost one.  This is a good example that your ways are not our ways.  I guess this parable makes a strong case for how much you love each one of us.  Lord, there have been times in my life that I have been lost from your family.  Thank you so much for searching so patiently for my return.  I pray for members of my family who have wandered off from your flock.  They are good people but have lost their way and are not aware of your desire for them to be safe at home with you.  Another point of this story may be that in your kingdom little things count.  Just as I can be offended by a single word or action of someone, I love you can too.  Lord, I’m sorry for the times I have put my relationship with you behind my own desires.  I know you understand and will forgive me.  Then when you bring the lost home, we can all celebrate with joy together.  Amen.
