Jeremiah 31:7-9

Psalm 126

Hebrews 5:1-6

Mark 10:46-52

Immediately he received his sight and followed him on the way.  Mk. 10:52

Lord, who am I in this story of healing?  Am I among those in the crowd who chose to overlook the blind beggar at the side of the road?  Am I the blind man who cannot see the world around him but has faith in your healing power?  Am I you who heals and restores life and opportunity to those in need?  After giving this man sight, you told him to go on his way.  He chose not to go home but to follow you.  He chose not to go back but to go forward in faith.  Faith always gets your attention and is rewarded.  Lord, have pity on me and heal my blindness.  I know that I miss so many of your blessings and am not aware of the special graces which you send my way every day.  I can be blind to opportunities to be your instrument of healing to someone you place along my road of life.  I can be so absorbed in my own problems and fail to see how I can minister to my brothers and sisters.  Open the eyes of my heart, dear Jesus.  Amen
