2 Thessalonians 3:6-10, 16-18
Psalm 128
Matthew 23:27-32
…Rather, we wanted to present ourselves as a model for you… 2 Thes. 3:9
Blessed are you who fear the Lod, who walk in his ways! Ps. 128:1
Lord, it is both comforting and a bit disturbing that you are with me wherever I go. Comforting because I need you to protect me, to guide me and to bless my walk in this world. Disturbing because I would rather hide my failures and sins from you. You see it all: the good, the bad and the ugly. Yet you persist in your tender and loving care of me. You have planted the seed of your word in my heart and will supply the grace for it to produce fruit. That word is working even on my occasions of sin. You continue to be present to me at home, at work, at recreation and even when I sleep. Lord, you brought me to this day and for that I thank you. How will you make your presence felt today? How will you show me that you are my strength this day? If I am challenged, I will look for your help. If I am in pain, I will look for your healing. If I experience fear or anxiety, I will wait for your courage to keep me going. St. Augustine, pray for us. Amen.
