Genesis 19:15-29
Psalm 26
Matthew 8:23-27
Then he got up, rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was great calm. Matthew 8:26
Lord, your disciples learned that you had power over the winds and the sea. Calming a storm on the Sea of Galilee is nothing compared to the power you have over all the forces of nature. You brought into existence every atom and every ray of light in the universe. All there is came from your hand. You established the physical laws and constants that govern how all matter and energy behave and interact. You name every star and hold every planet in your hands. Nothing happens without your knowledge or control. O Lord, in the midst of a storm in my life I can have such little faith. Why, oh why, do I fear that you are asleep and not aware of my troubles? While you are master of all the universe you are completely aware of every worry or concern I have. I call to you, dear Jesus, to calm the storms of my life and those of my family. Be present to our Catholic Church and our nation. Heal our wounds of sin and division. Help us all to trust in you for everything. Amen.
God Bless and Happy Birthday America.
