Sirach 44:1, 9-13

Psalm 149

Mark 11:11-26

“…all that you ask for in prayer believe that you shall receive it and it shall be yours.”  Mk.11:24

Lord, many of us want you to be like a vending machine—put in a dollar and always receive a product.  We also want you to desire for us what we want and when we want it—which is usually right now, today.  Lord, you are way too wise and your love for us too great that to grant immediately our every desire wouldn’t be good for us. I admit that I can pray for many things that aren’t what will benefit me or others. I can hear you say what you want for me is better, greater and more beautiful than what I want.  Besides that, you see my real needs when often I am only aware of my “wants.” Lord, like you say the bottom line is faith. It’s trusting that you love me and always know what is best. Your timing in answering prayer is always perfect.  Lord, today I place all my wants, needs and even wishes in your generous and loving hands trusting you will sort it all out and will provide only the very best. Thank you for answering all my prayers today.  Amen.
