Sirach 42:15-25

Psalm 33

Mark 10:46-52

“Jesus, son of David, have pity on me.”  Mk. 10:47

“Jesus told him, “Go your way; your faith has saved you.”  Mk. 10:52

Lord, as Bartimaeus “threw aside his cloak” he left behind the darkness of his former life. He asked for you to help him to see. You saw into his life and found a soul with faith. He called you “Son of David” so a blind man saw what so many sighted people could not see, your kingship and royal lineage. Faith always gets God’s attention. We know the end of the story. After receiving his sight Bartimaeus followed you on the way. He became your disciple. I’d like to know how he witnessed to you as the years unfolded. The first reading says “the glory of the Lord fills all his work.” So all you have created has value and is a blessing to your other creations. Thank you, Lord, for looking into my heart to see my faith. Help me to see your presence in every person and situation around me. Sharpen the eyes of faith in my heart to see the path you guide me to follow. Dear Jesus, son of David, have pity on me and transform me to become what you created me to be. Amen Alleluia
