Psalm 100

Luke 21:20-28 or 17:11-19

“Blessed are those who have been called to the wedding feast of the Lamb”.  Rev. 19:9

“…stand erect and raise your heads…”  Luke 21:28

Lord, today millions of us will pause to reflect on our blessings. Most will thank you as the source of much good in our lives:  family, friends, and freedom. We may even list all the material goods which you have given us. Thanksgiving for all this is good and right. I am grateful for all of them too. Your word today reminds us of our spiritual blessings: faith, mercy, abundant grace, our church community and most of all you.  You have already achieved the victory over sin and death. We need not cower in fear at the forces that oppose you. You have called us to the heavenly wedding feast that is coming. I can attend that feast today in the Mass. Thank you, Lord, for giving us this opportunity every day to celebrate your victory, to stand erect and raise my head in your presence, as I am fed by your word and your body and blood. The Mass is as close to heaven as I’ll get until, I enter the heavenly gates. Thank you, thank you, thank you Lord for all.  Amen.
