“Father…”  Lk. 11:2

Lord, when you came among us you showed us, in your humanity, the face of the Father.  You taught us he is our Father too.  He is not distant, unapproachable, uncaring.  He is as close as our next breath or next heartbeat.  Our Father is holy and pure and you call us to keep his name sacred above all other names.  Because he only wants the best for us his children we pray for his kingdom to come among us and to grow and to spread.  He wants us to have all the good things we need to live the abundant life you won for us.  No one is deprived of his blessings no matter how sinful.  He will forgive and forget our mistakes no matter how great if we only ask and desire to change.  We are encouraged to treat others in the same way.  Our great Father knows how we can so easily give in to the evil that harms us and takes away our freedom so he will send his angels to protect us and he will provide the grace needed to resist temptation.   Thank you, dear Jesus, for teaching us how to pray.  Amen.
