Jeremiah 30:1-2, 12-15, 18-22

Psalm 102

Matthew 14:22-36

You shall be my people, and I will be your God.  Jeremiah 30:22

“Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid.” Matthew 14:27

Lord, fear and doubt have no place in our relationship with you. Whether we admit it or not they easily slip into our lives when our boat is rocked by strong waves in the midst of a storm. Even though you’ve been with us from the beginning we can question your plan for us or forget that your power is greater than any storm in the night. We often try to walk on water by using our own resources but in the end when we fail you are there to save us. Lord, I believe that you can calm any storm in my life or heal any wound if I but touch the tassel of your cloak in confident prayer. My prayer today is that you substitute any fear I have with a love of you that won’t falter. Substitute any doubt I have with a trust and faith that you fulfill all your promises completely.  I’m so blessed that you have chosen me to be among your people. I thank you, Lord, for your faithfulness to me, for hearing and answering my prayer. I thank you for being my God.  Amen.
