The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the process established by the Church for individuals to become Catholic and receive the sacraments of initiation — Baptism, Confirmation, and the Eucharist. Built upon practices over a thousand years old, RCIA is a time of personal formation in which the individual encounters the hope and joy of Jesus Christ and his One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church.
