Acts of the Apostles 16:1-10
Psalm 100
John 15:18-21
Know that the Lord is God; he made us, his we are. Psalm 100:3
“…you do not belong to the world, and I have chosen you out of the world…” John 15:19
Lord, when I offer the prayer you taught us, I say “thy kingdom come, they will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” You told Pilate “my kingdom is not in the world.” All we need do is look at the evening news and see that truth. The standards you call us to live by: generosity, patience, service, and faith are not the prevailing standards of the world. You came to bring us into one family that is faithful to the commandments and to the Father. We are to live the good news you preached. We are to care for one another and work to make our world a place where all mankind can live in the freedom to praise and glorify you. Lord, I am only one small, weak, sinful person. But I know you have chosen me to follow you. I belong to you and not to the world. Help me to embrace your values of faith, hope and charity. Show me where I can make a difference in my little corner of the world. Maybe I can start today with myself as I seek to live in your kingdom now and forever. Amen.
