“…without me you can do nothing. John 15:5
Lord, when I was a child each day brought new experiences and challenges. Sometimes they were not always pleasant and were described as “growing pains”. Your young church community underwent growing pains too as we read in Acts today. Having a mixed community of Jews and Gentiles brought about questions as to how they should worship and live their new faith in you. Thanks to the presence of the Holy Spirit the church moves forward, always seeking the truth and the best path to you. Today the issues are different but we can still experience those growing pains. My faith in you is different now than it was years ago. I pray it is stronger and more complete. I want to know you better and to trust more and to persevere when life gets hard. Let me not be afraid of change. May I embrace the grace you give me to depend on you for everything. Dear Jesus, I want to stay close to you and trust you are guiding me and your church to greater faith. Continue, Lord, to walk with us through our growing pains. Amen.
