The favors of the Lord I will sing forever… Psalm 89:2
“Go into the whole world and proclaim the Gospel to every creature.” Mk 15:15
Lord, it’s clear from today’s word that we all have the mission to proclaim the good news to people who don’t know you. At first glance that can seem a difficult task for most of us. We aren’t’ trained missionaries or scripture scholars. We can be intimidated with the arguments of those who are from other faith traditions or are hardened unbelievers. But I think you have not sent us out alone. You are with us in Spirit whenever we share our faith. I believe you have given me certain, unique gifts that can be used for your glory. I may not be a preacher but I can live my faith in the circumstances and opportunities you provide. We say, “actions speak louder than words” so a good example is often more effective than a good argument. Lord, help me to be as faithful to you as you are to me. Keep me confident in my faith experience so I’m not shy to be an evangelist for you. I thank you for the people in my life who have witnessed to me. Holy Spirit, guide me today in all my actions and words as I “sing forever the favors of the Lord.” Amen
