…because his hour had not yet come. John 7:30
Lord, we often hear the advice that “timing is everything”. In so many ways, driving our cars, meeting people for lunch, selling a house or planning a vacation, timing is important. We study and work for years to accomplish our career and life goals. Your mission to save us from the darkness of sin would end with your suffering, death and resurrection. In our gospel today, we hear that your enemies plotted to do away with you because you had challenged their authority and told people there was a new kingdom in their midst. The Creator made us to be a light in this world. Whether we are young or old, the Father is calling us to make a difference in our families, neighborhoods, workplaces and communities. I am one of a kind in what I am called to be with my unique gifts and background. Don’t let me delay or procrastinate in the work given to me. Help me to choose to step out in faith today and touch the life of that person who you place in my path. Guide my heart to be open to doing now what I’m tempted to put off. Amen
