“Do you want to be well?” John 5:6
Lord, we can be afflicted with disabilities or chronic diseases which can last a lifetime. The man at the pool had been sick for so much of his life. You chose him to receive healing and a new life. We can be afflicted with spiritual ills which can persist for long periods. We may give up on changing a harmful habit, a pattern of sin or maybe a damaged relationship. Some families suffer through years of abuse. Lord, the vision of Ezekiel of the torrent of life giving water flowing from the temple reminds me of the torrent of your grace in my life. You are the new temple and the source of all the grace I’ll ever need and then some. You said that you came to give us life in abundance. Heal my physical afflictions and my spiritual disabilities, dear Jesus. Yes, Lord, I do want to be healed of whatever ails me. Amen.
