October 17, 2020 Saturday of the 28th Week in Ordinary Time-A ST. IGNATIUS OF ANTIOCH, BISHOP, MARTYR
Ephesians 1:11-14
Psalm 33
Luke 12:1-7
…that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation… Eph. 1:17
Lord, we spend our lifetimes acquiring knowledge, learning through experience and becoming mature in judgment and wisdom in our senior years. The question is have we wisdom of the world or the wisdom of God? The wisdom of the world helps us in our careers, allows us to acquire possessions and wealth. The wisdom of God helps us live a grace-filled life and guides us to heaven. Lord, I think a worldly wisdom is a good that can please you as long as it doesn’t become an obstacle to my relationship with you. Lord, my prayer today is for that spirit of your wisdom brings my mind and heart in union with yours. When I fail to understand your ways help me to trust in your plan. When I can’t see your presence help me to believe you are really here at my side. I ask for the courage to always stay faithful to you in every circumstance. May this day, in ways known only to you, bring me closer to your heart. That’s all the wisdom I really need. St. Ignatius of Antioch pray for us. Amen.
