“I am concerned about you… so I have decided to lead you up out of the misery…” Exodus 3:16-17
Lord, when we care about someone a great deal we are concerned when they suffer. Our concern is expressed with words of support and encouragement. We may even go further and do something to help relieve their suffering. This is how you responded to the misery of your children in Egypt. You didn’t just speak words of consolation but put into action your rescue plan. You entered into their distress and gave them Moses, your chosen, to lead them out of slavery. You performed wondrous things to achieve their freedom. Lord, you see how I can be enslaved by my sin. You see the oppression that injustice can cause in my life. You are concerned and deeply care when I suffer. You came to mankind to lead me and all your children to freedom from slavery to sin. I can confess my sins and be nourished by the Eucharist for the journey. Thank you, Jesus, for your concern and your gift of salvation. Amen
