“Your Kingdom come, your will be done…” Matthew 6:10
Lord, we so like to be in control of just about everything in our lives. Handing over this control and right to choose our own path doesn’t come easy or naturally to us. For some it’s “my way or the highway.” But your great prayer today urges us to put your will for us ahead of our own. You are all seeing, all knowing and all loving. I believe, my Lord, you only want the best for me. My faith tells me to place my family and myself in your loving and caring hands. My faith also tells me to unite my will with yours and allow your Kingdom to come to its fullest in my heart. Please help me to tame my sometimes rebellious ways. I admit, because I can’t see the big picture like you do, I can choose wrongly sometimes. Make me sensitive to your still, quiet voice within me. May your words in the garden “Father, not my will but thine be done’ be my words too today and every day. Amen.
