“…everyone who believes in me might not remain in darkness.” John 12:46
Lord, a few weeks ago I broke a toe on a piece of furniture in my house while walking in the dark. Who hasn’t stumbled or gotten lost in the dark? Lord, you are the light of the world. We no longer have to stumble or grope in the darkness. Your light is truth and grace. Pour this light into my life, Lord. May I always walk in your light. Shine your light on an important decision I must make. Shine your light on my marriage and my family. Shine your light on the work I do in the world. When I am tempted to go into the darkness, keep me close to you. May your light shine in my words and actions today. May I respond to criticism with the light of humility. May I answer harsh words with the light of forgiveness. May I react to suffering with the light of patience. And may I respond to poverty with the light of compassion. I thank you Lord for being the light of my life. Amen.
