Acts of the Apostles 9:1-20
Psalm 117
John 6:52-59
“Saul, my brother, the Lord has sent me…” Acts 9:17
Lord, Ananias may have thought: “who me?” “You want me to do what?” He was minding his own business being a good disciple of yours. He had a family to think about and care for. Yet you asked him to go to a man who was famous for persecuting people just like him. He may also have wondered that maybe there was another, a better way, or someone else more qualified to get this job done. Your ways, Lord, are not our ways nor your thoughts our thoughts. Our faith in you can be tested when you shake us out of our comfort zones or call us to be your instrument in new and challenging ways. Lord, I too can question your judgements, your plans, your actions, your calls. Help me to trust that you know best. Guide me to accept your call to me despite my misgivings or doubts. May I see with the eyes of faith how with your grace I can do whatever you ask of me. Like Ananias, when you call me today, may I respond “Here I am, Lord”. Amen.
