Jeremiah 2:1-3, 7-8, 12-13
Psalm 36
Matthew 12:10-17
You shall indeed hear but not understand; you shall indeed look but never see. Mt. 13:14
Lord, you told your disciples that people hear your words but there meaning would not touch their hearts. They would see your miracles but attribute them to the devil. How misunderstood you were! Not much has changed. We have over 2,000 years of your believers witnessing to the truth of your presence and so many still don’t hear or see. We are preoccupied with so many things in this world. Our priorities are out of tune with yours. We spend more time on Facebook than we do reading and meditating on your word. We let entertainment and pleasure crowd out our prayer time with you. Lord, send your Holy Spirit to touch the lives of those who don’t believe. Bring home our family members who have lost touch with your Church. Show us the injustice in our culture. Lord, we have so many problems in our country right now. I place all my shortcomings and sins at your feet. I beg you to reveal yourself to all people through the witness of your disciples. Teach me how to be your ambassador to all around me. Only in you can we be satisfied. Amen.
